Little Lambs Board

Little Lambs is governed by a Board of Directors, carefully selected for their broad-based professional experience in a variety of areas.  The Board meets at least quarterly to ensure the successful operation of the school. 

The President of the Board of Directors is the Priest of Christ Church Cranbrook, Reverend Ron Pogue. 



Cindy Ewell Foster, Ph.D. is a child clinical psychologist on the faculty at the University of Michigan. Professionally, she specializes in parenting and school-based interventions that improve children’s mental health. Cindy earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Vanderbilt University and her masters and doctoral degrees at Loyola University Chicago. She brings a wealth of experience in child development, evidence-based educational interventions for children, and program evaluation to Little Lambs.

Cindy had a child at Little Lambs from 2004-2013. Her children, Charlie, Virginia, and Jacob are all graduates of Little Lambs and now attend school in the Bloomfield Hills School District.

Cindy and her family have been members of Christ Church Cranbrook for the past 10 years. Cindy serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and sits on the personnel and education committees.


Alex Nugent is one of the nation’s top selling real estate agents. In addition, he is also involved in loan negotiations. He has a degree in marketing and communications from the University of Michigan and has 16 years of experience operating franchises.

Alex and his wife Nicole (also a Board member) are the proud parents of Auben (one of the first students at Little Lambs), Cooper, and Peyton. All three children are graduates Little Lambs. Alex is an active member at CCC, serving as a Lay Eucharistic Minister.


Chuck Foster currently runs a family business recycling and manufacturing wooden pallets. He is a graduate of Cranbrook Kingswood and current member of Christ Church Cranbrook. He received a degree in English from Vanderbilt University and a Masters in Business Administration from Michigan State University. Chuck is a father of three graduates of Little Lambs: Charlie, Virginia and Jacob. Chuck provides budgeting, managerial, and HR experience to the finance and personnel committees. Chuck and his family have been members of Christ Church Cranbrook for the past 10 years.


Karen Martin has been an active member of Christ Church Cranbrook for the past 12 years and a life-long Episcopalian. She taught science at the middle and high school levels for 22 years, and has been involved in tutoring programs and Sunday School programs since she was in college. She is a past Vestry member and past Vestry liaison for Little Lambs, and has been involved in many groups at CCC, especially Altar Guild. She is currently a tutor with the Bound Together program at All Saints Church in Pontiac.


Jan P. Westwood is a retired kindergarten teacher, who taught at Way Elementary in the Bloomfield Hills School District for over 25 years. Jan was also a Reading Recovery Specialist for 12 years. Jan achieved her elementary education degree from Michigan State University and went on to receive her Masters in Early Childhood from Oakland University.

Jan and her husband Jim have two grown children and are grandparent’s to four boys.

Human Resources

Jennifer DeMello-Johnson manages the services and consulting division for Agency Business Solutions, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Amerisure Insurance. With over 20 years of experience in Resource Management, IT Consulting and Human Resources, Jennifer earned her bachelors and masters degree from Northwestern University where she continues to serve on the Alumni Admissions Council here in Michigan.

Jennifer served as past Chairperson of the Board of Directors for Little Lambs in 2008 and has also served Christ Church Cranbrook on the Rector’s Search Committee, Music Director Search Committee, Music at Christ Church Cranbrook (MACCC), Lay Eucharistic Minister and as a Staff Singer in the choir. She and her family have been active members of CCC for the past 12 years.

Heather Krentler is currently the Director, Talent for Ignite Social Media, LLC. She has spent the last 10 years in the marketing/advertising industry, 7 of which have been in an HR capacity. Heather received her B.S. in Marketing from Oakland University, her M.S.A. in Human Resources from Central Michigan University, and is SPHR certified. Heather and her husband Jason have two beloved Little Lambs of their own; Nora (preschool) and Emmett (toddler).


Amanda (Mandy) Andrews has served as the Community Liaison at the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office for the past eleven years. She is responsible for the creation and implementation of various community outreach initiatives, as well as creating partnerships with many public and private organizations. Additionally, Amanda leads many public- and community-facing functions of the Oakland County Sheriff’s office, including public relations, social media, community education, and event management.

Amanda is a graduate of Michigan State University School of Arts and Letters, Center for Integrative Studies in the Arts and Humanities.

Amanda and her husband, Michael, have two children, Jude (6), and Alice (2), who is in the toddler room. Amanda and Michael have been active members of Christ Church Cranbrook since 2012.


Nicole Nugent is an attorney and shareholder at Sullivan, Ward, Asher and Patton, P.C. , working in the firm's specialty litigation group. She is involved in the defense of complex personal injury cases including medical malpractice, products liability, and ski area liability. Nicole received her undergraduate and law degrees at Wayne State University.

Nicole is the mother of three Little Lambs alums; Auben, Cooper (alums), and Peyton. She and her family are active members of Christ Church Cranbrook.

Krista Jackson is an attorney at Kotz Sangster Wysocki, P.C., specializing in commercial litigation. She is involved in civil litigation, representing numerous financial institutions, insurance companies and other local and national businesses. Krista received her undergraduate degree from Calvin College and law degree from the University of Virginia. Krista's daughter, Nora, is currently enrolled in Little Lamb's preschool program and her son, Thomas, is in the infant room.

Liaisons To the Vestry at Christ Church Cranbrook

Stephanie Caponigro and Linda Popoff are current members of the vestry at Christ Church Cranbrook. They attend Board meetings to serve as active liaisons between Little Lambs and the larger church community.
