Little Lambs is governed by a Board of Directors, carefully selected for their broad-based professional experience in a variety of areas. The Board meets at least quarterly to ensure the successful operation of the school.
The President of the Board of Directors is the Priest in Charge of Christ Church Cranbrook, Father Bill Fleming.
Chairperson
Cindy Ewell Foster, Ph.D. is a child clinical psychologist on the faculty at the University of Michigan. Professionally, she specializes in parenting and school-based interventions that improve children’s mental health. Cindy earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Vanderbilt University and her masters and doctoral degrees at Loyola University Chicago. She brings a wealth of experience in child development, evidence-based educational interventions for children, and program evaluation to Little Lambs.
Cindy has had a child at Little Lambs since 2004. Oldest son, Charlie, is a graduate of Little Lambs (2008) and now attends Way Elementary; daughter, Virginia, has attended Little Lambs since June, 2007; and son, Jacob, will be enrolling this fall.
Cindy and her family have been members of Christ Church Cranbrook for the past 8 years. Cindy serves as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors and sits on the personnel and education committees.
Secretary
Jenifer Schrader is Vice-President of Tax Assistance Corporation in Bloomfield Hills, MI, a tax resolution firm. Jenifer is a graduate of the University of Mississippi. A life-long parishioner of Christ Church Cranbrook, she serves as a daily liaison between the Board and the Little Lambs staff.
Jenifer first came to Little Lambs in the summer of 2003 with her daughter, Ellie, who is a graduate and now at Way Elementary. Her son, Emmett, is a current full-time toddler at Little Lambs.
Jenifer serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors and Fundraising Committee Chair. She also sits on the Finance committee.
Treasurer
Alex Nugent is one of the nation’s top selling real estate agents. In addition, he is also involved in loan negotiations. He has a degree in marketing and communications from the University of Michigan and has 13 years of experience operating franchises.
Alex and his wife Nicole (also a Board member) are the proud parents of Auben (age 5 1/2 and one of the first students at Little Lambs), Cooper (age 4, a graduate of Little Lambs), and Peyton (6 months, one of our newest Lambs). Alex is an active member at CCC, serving as a Lay Eucharistic Minister as well as a member of the church’s personnel committee.
Finance
Chuck Foster currently runs a family business recycling and manufacturing wooden pallets. He is a graduate of Cranbrook Kingswood and current member of Christ Church Cranbrook. He received a degree in English from Vanderbilt University and a Masters in Business Administration from Michigan State University.
Chuck is a father of three Little Lambs students: Charlie (an alum), Virginia (toddler program) and Jacob (infant program).
Chuck provides budgeting, managerial, and HR experience to the finance and personnel committees.
Marketing
Lauren Eaton has 10 years of marketing experience including event coordination for major concert tours, marketing of packaged goods, and marketing within the automotive sector, involving trade shows, print collateral, and all facets of advertising. She has a bachelor’s degree in Media Arts and Journalism from the University of Arizona. Lauren is active in a variety of charitable causes and has planned major fundraising events.
Lauren was raised at Christ Church Cranbrook. She sang in the youth choir and was married at CCC in 2005. Lauren is the mother of two children: Cooper is 3 and attends Little Lambs as a full week Preschooler. Daughter Riley, was born in December, 2008 is a future Little Lamb.
Lauren chairs the marketing committee and also offers her expertise in the area of fundraising.
Education/Personnel
Nikole Chesley is currently a teacher in Brandon School District. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, with endorsements in Science and Language Arts, at Central Michigan University. Nikole has a wealth of experience in Early Childhood Education. From 2006 to 2008, Nikole was the Pre-school teacher at Little Lambs.
Nikole chairs the Education Committee of the Board of Directors. She assists with curriculum development, teacher recruitment, and ensuring that all children receive an age-appropriate education at Little Lambs. Nikole and her husband, John, were married at Christ Church Cranbrook in April, 2008 with many Little Lambs pre-schoolers in attendance!
Pauline Jackson, Director of Kirk in the Hills Preschool for the past 9 years, has a Masters in Early Childhood Education from Erikson Institute in Chicago. She has taught preschool, run parenting programs, consulted, and presented at conferences on topics such as early literacy and art education. While in Chicago, she was recipient of the Kohl/McCormick Early Childhood teaching award, an award recognizing teachers for leadership, professional growth, innovation and respect for children and families.
Pauline, and her husband Ken, are parishioners at Christ Church Cranbrook and have two children, Sophie, aged 8, and Henry, aged 4.
Pauline serves on the education and personnel committees on Little Lambs' Board of Directors.
Law
Nicole Nugent is an attorney at Sullivan, Ward, Asher and Patton, P.C. , working in the firm's specialty litigation group. She is involved in the defense of complex personal injury cases including medical malpractice, products liability, and ski area liability. Nicole received her undergraduate and law degrees at Wayne State University.
Nicole is the mother of three Little Lambs students, Auben, Cooper, and Peyton. She and her family are active members of Christ Church Cranbrook.
Liaison To the Vestry at Christ Church Cranbrook
Karen Martin
Karen is a current member of the vestry at Christ Church Cranbrook. She attends Board meetings to serve as an active liaison between Little Lambs and the larger church community. Karen recently welcomed her first grandchild to the world! Congratulations!
